It is also used for working in mountains. This Breed is medium sized and commonly found in Morocco country of North Africa. This breed is also known as Atlas Mountain Dog because origin of this dog was Atlas Mountains of North Africa. The coat is heavy and soft which help it to protect from weather ( Weather Resistant coat ). They have bear like appearance.

History
The Aidi is recognised when coming from Atlas Mountains of Morocco country of North Africa. In 1963 , it was named as Atlas Sheepdog but after it was corrected in 1969 because it was never served as sheepdog. It is used as watchdog. This breed resemble with Pariah Dog. Aidi has been primarily used as a working dog in mountains, this breed became more common as a house dog in the country. This Breed is smart and more active and also known as House Dog. United Kennel Club(UKC ) recognized Aidi on July 1, 2006. but it is not recognised by AKC ( American Kennnel Club ).
